Q: What the hell is this?
A: It is a starting framework to supplement (and possibly replace) the
current name to base64 address lookup system with something that can scale
as the demand rises, and use less bandwidth. It will not replace hosts.txt
or userhosts.txt naming or "pet names". The idea is to supplement that.
Instructions are here if you want to run your own i2host server.
If you do, please TELL ME about it. Email to sponge@mail.i2p thanx!!!

Q: Why LISP?
A: What else fits working with a LIST of data better??!! Nothing IMHO. NEXT!
move along, nothing to see here.

Q: How does it work?
A: I'm finally getting asked this, because people wish to finally know how
to interface with i2host, so (UPDATED 04 Jan 2008)here it is.

Q: What about M$ Windoze?!!
A: Just install under cygwin, and with luck, you won't need to modify
   anything.

If you got questions, or write a client or server that can interact with
i2host, please email me.

Getting started:

You will need to have CLISP 2.44.1 or better installed on your system to be
able to use it. Other LISP implementations *SHOULD* work, if you modify the
she-bangs (#!) on the cgi's. Please let me know if that works for you. It
may or may-not depending on how your LISP takes care of paths, I will work
this out in the future, or you may help out and submit a patch yourself.

I2HOST is an extrememly alpha package, so don't piss and moan if things don't
work for you, they work fine for me. Just send a friendly bug report, or
talk to me on IRC. Chances are you found a nifty bug that needs to be taken
care of!

Good luck, and remember this is merely a starting framework, I have much to
add on to this yet. As of right now i2p has no way to call out to an
external program for help. This to me seems like a slice out of my freedom
to develop something not in java, and not part of i2p. Hopefully that will
change very soon. Supposedly support is due in the 0.6.1.32 release,
0.6.1.31 may include patches in CVS, so keep up on the CVS version of I2P.
This will assist in testing it.

0.6.1.33 has external support! This is great news for everyone!
Thank you zzz for listening! A utility will be written soon to exploit this.
